Sometimes game situations need to be simulated by creating some urgency. This soccer drill creates a sense of urgency on by adding backside pressure as the two offensive players are on a 2 on 1 break. Set up the drill as shown in the diagram. Designate a player or coach to make the first pass, the passer can pass to either offensive player.

This soccer drill is great to use as a warm up drill near the start of practice. It gets the players moving with several touches on the ball and some long shots on net.

3 vs. 1 Pass and Move

This is a soccer drill that has players reading the field and working hard without the ball. 4 players are needed total, 3 offensive and 1 defensive. Place 4 cones or discs in a 15 x 15 yard square about 10 to 15 yards in front of the net (see diagram). Each offfensive player starts at one of the four corners of the marked area so there is one corner that is not occupied.

This soccer drill requires 3 players. Setup 4 cones 15 yards apart in a straight line. Position players 1 and 2 on the the outside cones with player 1 starting with 5 balls.
