45 Degrees Goalie Drill

This is a simple soccer goalie drill that works on positioning and rebound control. Place two lines of players outside the 18 yard box about 5 - 10 yards outside the goal posts. Each line should have soccer balls because the drill will alternate sides. The first player in line dribbles the ball straight ahead and shoots at about a 45 degree angle (relative to the goal line). If needed, you can mark an area with cones or discs. The plyaer from the other line will sprint towards the goalie to apply some pressure and kick in any rebounds. The goalies should focus on good position and not allowing any rebounds. Remind you players that this is a goalie drill and first and foremost they need to shoot on goal.
